Why are you surveying on my neighbour’s property to complete my survey?

When surveying your property it is sometimes necessary to locate things that are not on your property in order to properly calculate your boundary.  This could mean measuring front corners of every monument on your street or even your neighbour’s sidelines.

Confirming your property corners requires locating these other property corners and comparing their measurements with those stated on deeds and previous surveys. Also, if your property corner monuments have been disturbed or removed we will use adjoining property information to reestablish your property location and reset new monuments.

Because of this need, the Surveys Act grants a licensed Ontario Land Surveyor the right to access any property when preparing a new survey.

As a licensed Ontario Land Surveyor, I’m available to discuss any surveying needs you may have or answer any questions you have regarding changes to your property.
